CONTRACT: Striker signs permanent deal

Boro forward makes move to Cumbria

United have today signed striker Charlie Wyke on an 18-month deal, for a small fee, which keeps him at Brunton Park until the summer of 2016.

Wyke, 22, came through the youth ranks with Middlesbrough and enjoyed loan spells with Kettering, Hartlepool and Wimbledon following the signing of a three-year professional deal at the Riverside in 2011.

He spent the first four months of this season on loan at Hartlepool where he scored four goals in his 14 appearances. He played against United at the Victoria Ground in October when goals from Rigg, Elliott and Beck earned the Cumbrians a 3-0 away victory in front of just under 1,000 travelling fans.

We'll have full reaction to this move later today.

Wyke will wear squad number 26.
