Chairman Andrew Jenkins on club priorities
Carlisle United chairman Andrew Jenkins today confirmed that the board of directors remain focused on their main priority of assisting the first team manager in his pursuit of picking up points and positive results as we head into the final four months of the current campaign.
“The work being done at the club at the moment is all geared towards improving matters on the pitch,” he said. “The manager is working tirelessly with our managing director to identify and secure additions for the playing squad to help with the process of gaining the positive results we all want as we go forward from here.
“Patience is always required when we talk about transfer dealings, in or out, but I can assure you we are doing our utmost to conclude matters as quickly as possibly.”
“Our second priority is to continue to build on the recent encouraging steps we have taken as we look to secure new investment in the club,” he added. “We are talking to a number of people and I am sure our supporters will understand that confidentiality must be observed until firm agreements are in place.
“What I can say is that investment has never been blocked on condition that current directors or board members remain in place. What we will do is seek assurance that we will not face a situation where the future of the club could be placed at risk. Again, I am sure everyone connected with the football club would want us to do that on their behalf.”
