Spartans centre back joins the Blues
Carlisle United Football Club have today signed defender Nathan Buddle on half season deal, with a club option to extend for a further 12-months, which keeps him at Brunton Park until at least the end of this campaign.
The big centre back has enjoyed an extended trial spell with the Cumbrians, which included pitch time for over an hour in last Tuesday’s friendly fixture against Newcastle United, having played 90 minutes in Blyth’s 1-1 draw with Ilkeston Town on Monday evening.
Buddle, 21, started his career at Hartlepool but moved to join Blyth Spartans at the start of the 2013/14 campaign. He made a total of 83 appearances for the Spartans and scored five goals during his time at Croft Park.
He was captain of the England C representative team which celebrated the 125th anniversary of the Northern League.
This move remains subject to the completion of all paperwork.
Buddle will wear shirt number 5.
