Carlisle United and CUOSC joint roadshows
Representatives from Carlisle United Football Club and CUOSC will be hosting a series of joint roadshows around the region in August in a bid to address any concerns or queries, and to discuss any points fans may have, following the rebranding of The United Trust and the launch of an official supporters’ club this month.
Season ticket holders will be automatically enrolled as members of CUOSC when the optional opt-out period runs out on 28 August, with a proposal already in place which seeks to bring the fans and the club closer together as we head into the 2015/16 campaign.
Former Members of Carlisle United, who received a range of benefits upon purchase of their season-long membership, can also sign up to CUOSC with immediate effect as the new supporters’ club starts to take shape.
“We’ve provided an opt-out option for our season ticket holders in the information pack we sent out last week,” financial director Suzanne Kidd said. “We’re delighted to say that a very low number of fans have taken up the option, and we hope that by doing these roadshows we will be able to encourage more of our fan base to hop on board with us.
“The benefits of having an official supporters’ club are endless and we’re looking forward to regular meetings, events and discussions with CUOSC as the season moves forward. These roadshows give fans an opportunity to meet us face to face and raise any issues they feel they have. We urge everyone who can attend these events to come along and contribute to what we hope will be lively and productive discussions.”
CUOSC board member Nigel Davidson said: “Come along to meet CUOSC and staff from Carlisle United at the joint roadshows to discuss the creation of the Carlisle United Official Supporters Club (CUOSC) and the closer relationship with the football club going forward, giving you the chance to air any ideas and suggestions you may have and ask any questions you have about the club and the supporters club.”
The proposal is as follows:
+ All season ticket holders (excluding minors) will be automatically enrolled as members of CUOSC (an opt-out option has been provided).
+ The club will recognise CUOSC members as full Members of Carlisle United Football Club and will grant the benefits associated with this membership.
+ The club and CUOSC will set up a committee representing both parties and will meet regularly to discuss areas where all parties can work together.
+ The club will provide regular updates and information for dissemination by CUOSC to their members, as they see fit.
The roadshows will consist of a short presentation followed by a Q&A session and an ‘open floor’ discussion where suggestions, concerns and ideas can be put forward and addressed.
