Patrick Brough extends stay with club
United wide man Patrick Brough has today put pen-to-paper on an improved deal which keeps him at Brunton Park until the summer of 2017.
Brough, 19, came through the youth ranks with the club and made his first team debut in a 3-3 Capital One Cup home draw with Blackburn Rovers in August 2013.
He signed his first professional contract at the end of that season and has made a total of 39 appearances for the Blues, including three this season.
Manager Keith Curle said: “Patrick is a really hard worker and we’ve seen over the last year some of what he can do.
“We think there’s more to come and this gives him the chance to get his head down and continue his development. He’s got a lot of good attributes and we’re pleased for all concerned that we’ve got this done.”
Brough said: "I'm obviously delighted that this is done. To play for my local club is superb and I feel like I still have a lot more to show and learn.
"This means I can settle into the work the gaffer wants me to do, without having to think about my immediate future, and I can make sure I keep progressing so that I'm pushing for a starting place as much as I can.
"We're playing a different style of football this season and I think everyone is enjoying it. The gaffer wants us to entertain and that suits everybody. It feels like the wins are coming, particularly if we keep playing the way we are."
