Keith Curle ahead of the visit of Portsmouth
Manager Keith Curle spoke to us about the visit of Portsmouth on Good Friday.
“We need Brunton Park to be absolutely bouncing on Friday,” he said. “The kids are off school and the grown ups are having a bit of time off, so come along, bring everyone, and let’s see how we do.
“As we said the other day, we want everyone to come here with a level of expectation of seeing a performance and a positive result. It’s a big weekend and the aim has to be to give our fans plenty to cheer about.”
“The preparation has been done and we know Portsmouth will come here looking to get back to the results they were picking up through the latter part of February and the early part of March,” he commented. “They are a very good side if you allow them to play so we know we’re going to have to work hard to close the spaces and win the second balls.
“The lads have trained well following our own disappointment from last week and they’re all looking forward to it. We have a group of players who all want to be involved and there is good competition for places.
“Our focus, as ever, is on doing our jobs and making sure we are on our game. If we get that from the players then the performance will follow. That’s what we’re looking for from both games this weekend.”
