COMMUNITY: United back Young Carers campaign

Carlisle United support News & Star Young Carers campaign

Carlisle United Football Club are delighted to announce that we have given our support to the Give Them A Break campaign which aims to raise £20,000 to give some of Cumbria’s amazing young carers respite from caring duties which often impact on their lives around the clock.

The News & Star have teamed up with Eden Carers and West Cumbria and Carlisle Carers to help to provide a wide range of opportunities for these fantastic young people and Carlisle United have pledged 350 seats, free of charge, in our Cumberland Building Society Community Stand for the home game in August against Southend to help the cause.

And, as an extra thank you from the club, all young carers who attend will be treated to exclusive behind the scenes access ahead of the big match kick off.

Media officer Andy Hall said: “We saw the appeal in the News & Star and it struck a chord with a lot of people at the club.

“These youngsters are fantastically dedicated and carry out much-needed caring duties, often with very little recognition. This campaign is a great way for all of us to say thank you to some young people who do some amazing things without a second thought. Hopefully they will enjoy their day here with us in August.”
