Tom Lawrence on what he wants from his loan spell
Striker Tom Lawrence spoke to us about extending his loan spell for another month shortly before the Friday afternoon training session.
"It's great to be back," he confirmed. "The Crewe game wasn't as good as we hoped it would be but I'm obviously pleased that I managed to score another goal. I've been practicing those free kicks on my own after training so it's nice to see one of them fly into the back of the net.
"All of my goals have been pretty good but I'm not sure which one has been my favourite. I'd probably have to say one of the ones from the Tranmere game because we won the three points as well. It's always better scoring when you help your team win."
"The fans have really got behind me during my time here and they've been great," he commented. "I didn't hesitate to say yes when I knew Kav wanted to keep me here for longer because I've really enjoyed playing games and being involved in a first team environment.
"The main thing for me when I came here was to get some games under my belt so it's been fantastic to be involved in so many. The people at Manchester United have just told me to carry on doing my best and working hard.
"Obviously we've got a big game on Sunday which we're all looking forward to and it's a massive one for everybody. I'm sure the lads will all enjoy it but we know it will be a tough game. Whoever their starting 11 is they'll be good players, but we want to make it as difficult as we can for them."
"Kav said a couple of weeks ago that he wanted me to work on the defensive side of my game and I do feel that's coming," he told us. "I feel confident in myself and I just want to keep improving. It's great that Kav keeps naming me in his teams so I just want to repay his faith in me by putting in some more good performances."
