Supporters praised for exemplary behaviour
Carlisle United supporters have been praised for their excellent behaviour at the Stadium of Light following the FA Cup with Budweiser Third Round tie on Wearside.
The Cumbrians were backed by a 5,800 strong following for the clash on Sunday which saw Matt Robson net against his boyhood club on what became an excellent day out for the club.
Sunderland AFC’s head of safety and security Paul Weir said: “A lot of work went into the stewarding and organisation for one of the biggest away followings that we have had at the stadium in recent years and the travelling fans were exemplary in their behaviour.
“Supporters were well behaved and in good spirits throughout the game. They were a credit to their club.”
Everyone at Carlisle United Football Club would like to echo these comments and pass on their thanks for the superb support shown on the day.
