Former-Latics stopper joins Cumbrians
Carlisle United Football Club have signed keeper Dean Bouzanis on a short-term deal which keeps him at Brunton Park until 23 April 2014 - subject to international clearance and the registration of all necessary paperwork with the relevant authorities.
Australian-born Bouzanis, 23, cut his teeth in youth football in his home country but signed a three-year deal with Liverpool following a successful trial spell under Reds’ boss Rafael Benitez in 2007.
He was a regular in the Liverpool U18 and reserve squads and made his first step into first team football with a loan spell at Accrington Stanley in 2009.
Bouzanis joined Oldham Athletic on non-contract terms in November 2011 and went on to make 45 appearances in two seasons for the Latics.
He has played at U17, U19, U20 and U23 level for his country and has spent the first part of this season with Superleague Greece outfit Aris FC.
He teamed up with United for a trial spell ten days ago and will be available for selection for the MK Dons fixture on Tuesday evening if, as expected, confirmation of clearance of registration is received.
Dean Bouzanis will wear squad number 40.
