FANS: Blind Blues fan releases debut album

Blind Blues fan releases debut album

David Ross, a totally blind singer and fan of the Cumbrians, has recently realised a life-long dream by releasing his debut CD.

He regularly makes the 200 mile round trip from his home in Inverkeithing to cheer on ‘The Blues’ and is also a regular floor singer at the Dunfermline folk club. He recorded his album ‘Frustrated Blue’ at the studios of XBOW LTD near Stonehaven.

David, who has been blind from birth, regularly made the 250 mile round trip from his home in Inverkeithing on foot and by train, in all weathers.

David said: “Making a studio album has been an interesting and most enjoyable experience and I have learned a lot.

"Before I went into the studio most of my singing had been unaccompanied. It’s a totally different experience actually being recorded and singing into a microphone. Every note you sing and every breath you take is picked up.”

David, who works four days a week at the Fife Society for the Blind in Kircaldy, added: “Most of the recording was done on the one day of the week I wasn’t working. I have to admit it felt a bit odd sometimes, getting up an hour earlier on your day off.”
