ACADEMY: Clip 'n Climb outing for Foundation Phase

U9, U10 and U11 teams enjoy Christmas treat

The Academy under 9, under 10 and under 11 teams went along to Clip 'n Climb in Maryport last week for their Christmas treat.

Academy coach Ben Benson said: "The players were split into teams and they took part in a World Cup challenge.

"They had to climb the equivalent of a famous landmark from a team that played in the recent World Cup - so they took on Big Ben, the Eiffel Tower and the Statue of Liberty, for example."

"We used this as an opportunity to break up training and give the players a treat before Christmas," he added. "We place a lot of emphasis on team work and friendship at the academy and we were delighted to see the players work as a group and encourage each other.

"We would all like to thank the staff at Clip 'n Climb for allowing us to use their excellent facilities. They made us feel extremely welcome and they looked after us throughout the visit.

"Finally I would like to thank our parents and players for their support. The lads were fantastic ambassadors for the football club and they really enjoyed themselves."
