40 year anniversary image recoloured
A splash of colour has been added to a classic moment from Carlisle United history by re-colouring the famous team photo from our Season in the Sun. The re-colouring has been provide by The Football League as part of the #WallofColour campaign. The new photo shows what a massive difference colour can make and comes as Carlisle United are calling on fans to create a #WallofColour at the opening home match of the season against Luton Town on Saturday 9 August, in conjunction with the #cufc6000 campaign.
Supporters are asked to wear blue to inspire Graham Kavanagh and the team to get the 2014/15 Sky Bet League Two campaign off to the best possible start and then share their efforts on social media using #WallofColour #cufc6000.
"Luton are bringing big numbers and I'm sure our fans will respond to that," manager Graham Kavanagh said. "We've had supporters talking about #cufc6000 for a few months and I think there's a real feeling of positivity around the club at the moment. The #WallofColour campaign from the Football League can only help with that.
"It would be brilliant to see everyone in blue on Saturday and I know a noisy crowd always gives our players a lift. There's a real buzz around and hopefully it will all come together with a performance and a result which will give the fans plenty to smile about as the kicks off once again."
