Stopper leaves Brunton Park
Carlisle United Football Club can confirm that keeper Dean Bouzanis has left the club as his three-month contract draws to a close.
Australian-born Bouzanis, 23, joined the Cumbrians as cover for the number one position during the January transfer window and was on the bench for the MK Dons and Bristol City games shortly after signing his deal.
He cut his teeth in youth football in his home country but signed a three-year deal with Liverpool following a successful trial spell under Reds’ boss Rafael Benitez in 2007. He was a regular in the Liverpool U18 and reserve squads and made his first step into first team football with a loan spell at Accrington Stanley in 2009.
Bouzanis joined Oldham Athletic on non-contract terms in November 2011 and went on to make 45 appearances in two seasons for the Latics.
He has played at U17, U19, U20 and U23 level for his country and has spent the first part of this season with Superleague Greece outfit Aris FC.
