MATCH PREVIEW: Port Vale

Testing a new section of the site

United play their third Sky Bet League One league home game of the season on Saturday when they host a Port Vale side who are yet to pick up a win on the road.

Manager Greg Abbott said: “Micky [Adams] is a great manager who has done fantastically well with Port Vale.

"They’ve lost a couple of games, so their tails will be a little bit down, but we’ll have to be at our best. We’ll have to work hard to stop them getting a foothold but I just think there’s a different mood this week and the lads are feeling excited and confident. It’s a different type of tension in the air and they can’t wait to get out there and get at the opposition.”

Referee

Our match referee is Mr Mark Brown.

He has been the man in the middle for four games so far this showing, showing seven yellow cards and one red card.

Our last meeting with him was for our 1-3 home defeat against Doncaster in November 2012. Dave Symington scored our second half goal and Joe Garner was the only Carlisle player to go in the book.
