CST: Players take coaching session

Carlisle city girls get surprise visit

The Carlisle City U12 girl's team received a rather nice surprise on Tuesday evening when United midfielder Brad Potts popped along to help with their training session.

Potts, who has been a regular starter this season, has attended a number of junior sessions this year as the club continues to strengthen links with the local community.

Fellow first team squad members Josh Todd and Dave Symington also joined the session where a warm up, passing and movement and shape drills were followed by an 11 v 11 game.

The biggest cheer of the night came when Potts took a place between the sticks for the final five minutes only to concede two goals within the space of two minutes!

"These sessions are really enjoyable and we often stay behind to join in after the main stuff has finished," Potts said. "I've been lucky enough to get out and do a lot of these sessions this season and hopefully that will continue.

"The kids always enjoy it and it's nice to be able to help them with a little bit of advice here and there. The standard was really high tonight and I'm sure the girls will have a good season if they take it out onto the pitch."

Thank you to everyone connected with Carlisle City for inviting us along to their session.
