Beck to team up with Scotland
Carlisle United Football Club are delighted to confirm that striker Mark Beck has been called up to the Scotland U21 squad for their European Championship double-header of qualifying games next week.
Beck, 19, has already tasted international football with Ricky Sbragia’s Scotland U19 and again with Billy Stark's U21 side in Holland at the beginning of September.
Scotland will play Slovakia at St Mirren Park on Thursday 10 October and will then travel to face Georgia at the Mikheil Meskhi stadium in Tbilisi on Monday 14 October.
The young striker teams up with the Scotland squad on Sunday 6 October and is set to miss the Johnstone's Paint Trophy second round trip to Morecambe the following Tuesday.
"We're all delighted for him that he has been called up again," manager Graham Kavanagh said. "He's now been capped at under-19 and under-21 level and it's great experience for him to be in and around the squad at that level.
"We know he's a good player and he's working hard to improve all the time. This will help him with that."
We'll have reaction from Mark Beck to his call up on the official website on Wednesday morning.
