SKY BET: Goodwill gesture

Goodwill gesture from Sky Bet

The Football League’s title sponsor Sky Bet have paid out on all goal scorer bets placed on Carlisle duo Dave Symington and Sean O’Hanlon following the Blues’ 2-1 win over Crewe.

Symington’s 20-yard effort deflected off O’Hanlon as the hosts broke the deadlock on the stroke of half-time on Tuesday night, with the online bookmaker paying out both ways as a goodwill gesture.

Defender O’Hanlon was a massive 40/1 chance to score first and 14/1 to score anytime, while his midfield team-mate Symington was available to back at 16/1 to score first and 11/2 in 90 minutes.

Indeed, two Sky Bet customers had money on O’Hanlon to score first and the Blues to win 2-1, with the gesture earning each a big return at odds of 200/1.

Meanwhile, there was no such dispute over Carlisle’s second goal moments later, with Matty Robson satisfying odds of 11/4 by scoring anytime.

The win saw Graham Kavanagh’s men pull further away from the relegation zone as Carlisle stretched their unbeaten record to four games in Sky Bet League 1.

They’re 11/10 to continue that run at Swindon this weekend in Sky Bet’s double chance ‘win or draw’ market, while another 2-1 win can be backed at 14/1.
