Lee Miller ahead of the Boreham Wood game
Striker Lee Miller spoke to us as his four match suspension came to an end ahead of the FA Cup first round replay with Boreham Wood on Tuesday evening.
"I'm delighted to be available for selection again," he said. "My season has to start today because I'm hopeless at watching games when I'm not involved. I want to do well for the team and start scoring goals because I haven't been doing that so far this season.
"The recent team form has been frustrating because we started off well, but the results have tailed off recently. We've been in and out of games and we've lost a couple of bad goals. Hopefully we can make that right tonight and go on another run from there."
On his fitness levels, he said: "I've been keeping myself fit and doing as much extra work as I can, so I just want to get back out onto the pitch and show people what I can do. I'm looking forward to it because I just want to be out there and doing my job again."
"The incident at Gillingham was stupid and I've held my hands up to that," he admitted. "It was one of those ding-dongs you have with centre half but I lost my composure and just lashed out.
"It isn't like me to do something like that so I was really disappointed with myself. The fact is that I let everybody down. I hadn't been playing well anyway so for something like that to happen was frustrating and I was really annoyed with myself.
"I'd just got myself back into the team after my injury when it happened and I haven't played many minutes this season. I just want to put it all behind me now.
"I think everybody wants to prove themselves to the coaching staff and the fans all of the time but there is a little bit more need for that off me at the moment. I set high standards for myself and I haven't been anywhere close to them this season."
"I haven't set any targets now I'm back," he insisted. "I just want to score as many goals as possible and do my bit for the team. I want to get myself as sharp as I can and put in some good performances.
"I'm available for selection for the FA Cup game so hopefully I will get a chance to go out there and show everybody what I can do. The FA Cup is always special and hopefully it's special for us tonight.
"It gives us a chance to go out and show everybody that we're a good team. We know we can't take anything for granted because there's always upsets in the FA Cup. Hopefully we're aren't involved in one ourselves and we can use the game to set ourselves off on another little run."
