Lynch puts pen-to-paper on one-year contract
Midfielder Jack Lynch has today put pen-to-paper on his first professional contract which keeps him at Brunton Park until the summer of 2014.
Lynch, 18 in June, successfully completed his two-year YTS spell with the club and was offered a contract along with fellow youth team players Brandon Gwinnutt and Alex Salmon when their youth spell came to an end in May.
The versatile midfield man has trained consistently with the first team throughout his time at the club and has been a regular in the reserve sides which have faced the likes of Celtic, Rangers, Newcastle United and Middlesbrough.
“In Jack Lynch we’ve seen the type of midfield player that we possibly haven’t had for a while,” manager Greg Abbott said.
“He is fantastic in the way he chases the opposition down and in the way he tries to make sure he wins his battles. He’s extremely tenacious and he has an excellent range of passing, and he is one who brings a really competitive edge to his game.
“That gives us quite a lot to work with.”
We’ll have full reaction from Jack Lynch on the official website on Friday morning.
