Weather beats the youth game
The youth away game at Shrewsbury scheduled for tomorrow [Saturday 23 March] has been called off due to the poor weather conditions.
Overnight snow and ice has made the pitch surface unplayable and an early decision has been called to prevent United from setting off early on the day.
"Credit to Shrewsbury for making an early decision but, yet again, we're in a situation where we would all rather be playing a game," youth boss Eric Kinder said.
"You don't expect this when you're getting to the back end of March, but that's the way it goes. There's nothing we can do about it and hopefully we'll have the Cumberland Cup game on Monday, followed by a game against Bury on Thursday. That means the lads have plenty of football to look forward to next week."
Rearranged fixture details will be posted as soon as they are confirmed.
