Rory Loy on picking up points
Striker Rory Loy spoke to second year University of Cumbria Journalism students Michael Garvey, Jerome Nichols and Paul Warner about his current form and about his hopes for the next few games.
“With being out so long it’s just good to be back and playing,” he said. “The goals are a bonus because playing again is what it has all been about.
“The reception from the fans has been superb. They’ve supported me all the way through the ups and downs along the way and I have to say a big thank you to them.”
And on reviving the strike partnership with fellow forward Lee Miller, he added: “Lee is a great player and the things he does, like holding the ball up and bringing other players into it, gives me licence to get on with what it is I enjoy doing. We work really well together.”
“I think we just have to keep our heads up for these last twelve games now,” he told us. “We need to pick up as many points as we can and that means we’ll have to work hard to do it. Our aim is to get as many wins as possible so that we can finish higher up the table.
“We have to look to bounce back from Tuesday night right away. It was a disappointing game for us and it was the first time we’d had such a heavy defeat in a while.
“We need to put it behind us and move on to Notts County on Saturday and Crawley on Tuesday. Hopefully we’ll produce the performances and the points.”
