Tonight's game is OFF
Tonight’s away game against Doncaster Rovers has been called OFF due to the recent poor weather conditions.
Officials at the Keepmoat Stadium called a 12pm pitch inspection ahead of Carlisle United’s scheduled time of departure for the away trip and have confirmed that the game has had to be postponed.
“It isn’t ideal but Doncaster have handled this really well,” manager Greg Abbott said.
“They alerted everyone yesterday that an inspection was needed and we appreciate the fact, on behalf of the club and our supporters, that it was completed before we were due to set off.”
“In terms of preparation, obviously we were ready for the game so the next thing for us was to get together and go through the final match build-up routine,” he explained.
“That won’t happen so we will now reschedule the week with the long away trip to Leyton Orient in mind. It’s a case of using the time we now have by putting this postponement behind us and by getting ready for our next game.”
“The lads take things like this in their stride,” he said. “It’s part and parcel of the game and they will all have been following the weather and news reports anyway. This one is postponed now and they’ll all be in for our next training session bright and ready to work hard so that we can build on what was a very good result at the weekend.”
Rearranged fixture details will be released as soon as they are confirmed.
