Date set for the Penrith fixture
Carlisle United will now travel to face Penrith in the semi-final of the Cumberland Cup following a mutual agreement between the clubs to switch venues for the fixture.Officials from the clubs got together today and agreed that the game will now be played at Frenchfield Park on Monday 25 March, kick off 7pm, after taking into consideration United's home match against Shrewsbury Town on Good Friday and the opportunity to assist Penrith in raising some extra revenue.
"It's one which makes sense for both clubs," coach Eric Kinder said.
"Penrith have made the request and it actually fits in well with our schedule. It's one for both clubs to look forward to and hopefully we'll get a few people down there to watch."
