CUMB CUP: Penrith up next

Semi-final at Frenchfields on Monday night

United make the short trip to Frenchfields Park on Monday night for the semi-final of this season's Cumberland Cup competition and, with both teams keen to progress, it should prove to be a good game.

The Blues have already seen off Celtic Nation, Longtown, Penrith Rangers and Carlisle City on their way to this one and are set, once again, to mix experience with youth when it comes to team selection.

"The manager tends to use these games to get some pitch time for some of his first team squad and we also get some of our youth team lads involved as well," Eric Kinder told us.

"Penrith are a good side and it's one where we will have to be on our game. They have given us a few scares in the past and they'll definitely be up for it.

"Hopefully we'll get a decent crowd down there and that will help them a little bit. I'd certainly encourage anyone who is at a loose end to pop along and help us as we try help one of our local clubs."
