A huge welcome to Virgin Trains
Carlisle United Football Club are delighted to announce Virgin Trains as our Official Travel Partner for the 2013/14 season.
Committed to working with the team and our supporters on away day travel solutions throughout the campaign next season, this developing partnership with Virgin Trains provides an exciting opportunity for all concerned as we head into the new campaign.
The Virgin Trains logo will appear on all first team training and travel kit for next season with the lads being put through their paces for the first time in the new gear next Thursday [27 June].
The team will then take to the tracks when they travel to face Kendal on Saturday 6 July [kick off 3pm]. The squad will depart from Carlisle on the day of the game, arriving at Oxenholme for a subsequent transfer to the ground ahead of the pre-match preparations.
“It’s absolutely fantastic for everyone connected with the club that we have been able to forge this new partnership with Virgin Trains,” commercial director Dick Young said.
“Our meetings have been very positive from day one and both parties have found plenty we can work with going forward. This is a very exciting partnership and a wonderful opportunity for the club to connect with a major business partner on a national and local level.”
Stuart Davison of Virgin Trains said: “We are delighted to be proud travel sponsors of Carlisle United. This will be a great partnership and will serve to connect people to Carlisle United games both home and away.”
Virgin Trains has operated long-distance passenger services on the West Coast Main Line between Greater London, the West Midlands, North West England, North Wales and Scotland since March 1997 and provides a smooth and often vital connection between the major cities of London, Manchester, Liverpool, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
