CUMB CUP: Carlisle City up next

United play host to quarter final meeting

United welcome Carlisle City to Brunton Park on Tuesday night for the quarter final of this season's Cumberland Cup competition and, with both teams keen to progress, it should prove to be a good game.

The Blues have already seen off Celtic Nation, Longtown and Penrith Rangers on their way to this one and are set, once again, to mix experience with youth when it comes to team selection.

"It's a good chance for the manager to get pitch time for some of his first team squad and it's good for us to be able to get some of our youth team lads involved as well," Eric Kinder told us.

"It's one we will try to do properly and we've had some good meetings with Carlisle City in the past. They'll come to give us a test and we'll have to approach it in the right way.

"We tend to get a decent crowd in the main stand for these games and this competition has been full of goals so far this season. Hopefully there'll be plenty to cheer about again on the night."
