TRANSFERS: Defender joins on loan

Addicks defender joins United

Carlisle United have today signed Charlton Athletic central defender Kevin Feely on a one-month loan deal which keeps him at Brunton Park until midnight on 4 September 2013.

Irish U21 international Feely, 20, joined the Addicks from Airtricity Premier Division outfit Bohemians at the end of 2012 having been scouted by a number of clubs, including Peterborough United and Everton.

He played a huge part in the treble winning feats of the Development squad at the Valley last season and has been on the brink of the first team throughout his time with the club.

“It's an area where we need cover at the moment and he is a very good player who can come in and do that for us,” manager Greg Abbott said.

"He's a big, strong player who can play a bit of football as well, so we're looking forward to working with him.

"He comes very highly rated and he's another who is very keen and hungry to be involved. Hopefully this will be a good month for him and us."

We'll have reaction from Kevin Feely to the move later today.
