Make a weekend of it this month
Croydon-based London Branch member Jason Casey has contacted the club to alert us about a game being played on Sunday 1 September which could interest United fans who have decided to make a weekend of it in London when we travel down to face Brentford.
Croydon FC - otherwise known as 'The Trams' - are celebrating their 60th anniversary with an all-star fixture against a Crystal Palace XI ... and one of the stars lined up to play in the game is our very own Sir Jimmy Glass!
Also set to feature are Bruce Dyer, Steve Kember, Clinton Morrison, Neil Shipperley and Eddie McGoldrick - along with a host of other big names from the footballing industry.
"It looks like it's going to be a good family event," Jason said. "As well as the game and a chance to meet Jimmy Glass there will be a barbecue, activities for the kids and a licensed bar.
"If there are any fans who have decided to stay in the Big Smoke for the weekend then this could be a good way to relax, have a bit of fun and take in an enjoyable game of football."
Kick off is at 3pm at the Croydon Sports Arena, Albert Road, South Norwood, SE25 4QL ... if, just like the good old days, you fancy giving Jimmy a bit of encouragement from the terraces!
