Policy information from the CST
If any child goes missing at ANY time the following procedure must be followed:
+ A member of staff should look for the child.
+ If the problem is not resolved in a reasonable time, staff and parents should inform the police immediately.
+ If the parents or guardians are not already aware of the situation then a member of staff must inform them immediately.
+ A member of staff is to account for the remaining children immediately.
+ Remaining children must be kept in one location, with AT LEAST one member of staff in attendance, until the situation is resolved.
+ Parents or guardians are to be kept informed; either in person or via the telephone; of the ongoing situation at regular intervals.
