Alex Salmon grabbed the early goal which proved to be just about enough to see off a determined Macclesfield outfit who were probably the better side on the day.
Connor Thomson did the work on 11 minutes to create space on the right for a low cross and striker Salmon did the rest with a very good finish.
"We were second best on the day," Eric Kinder said.
"We had five of our U16 players in the team and they have found out just how hard this can be.
"Jordan Parker has made a string of unbelievable saves for us or the result could have been much different."
