Clarification of the Livesey situation
United manager Greg Abbott today confirmed that defender Danny Livesey triggered a clause to activate the offer of a further one-year contract a number of weeks ago and that it is up to the defender to decide whether or not he will now put pen to paper.
Livesey, 28, joined United in December 2004 and has made over 300 starts in a blue shirt having been through everything with the club since its promotion back into the Football League from the Vauxhall Conference later that season.
“Danny had an appearance related contract and obviously he has achieved his target,” Abbott said. “He’s done well this season and he’s earned that.
“He’s now entitled to another year if that’s what he wants to do.
"We’ve had no indication from him as yet as to which way he will go, but the option of that further year is on the table if he wishes to take it.”
