Big game sales motoring along
Ticket sales for the Capital One Cup third round meeting with Tottenham Hotspur next Wednesday topped 7,600 at 5pm on Friday evening with another day of brisk sales reported at the end of a busy week."With the Spurs fans factored in we're at just under 9,000 going into the weekend, which is fantastic," media officer Andy Hall said.
"I think the Europa League game against Lazio last night had a lot of Cumbrian interest as we all carried out our own kind of scouting mission, and it whetted the appetite even more to think we're going to see these lads on our pitch next week.
"If sales continue at this rate then we're going to see a very healthy and hopefully noisy crowd next Wednesday night."
"We haven't talked about the game much at all in the dressing room because we have a policy of concentrating on the next game as our most important fixture," manager Greg Abbott said.
"However, it goes without saying that every member of the squad will want to be involved. We'll get our trip to Coventry done, hopefully with a good performance under our belt to take into this massive game.
"On Monday we can then really focus on what we will do to make sure we give one of the best sides in the country a test. A big Carlisle crowd could play a real part in that and it would be fantastic to see the home areas completely full."
