Jake Jervis on the Mk Dons game
Loan striker Jake Jervis took some time to talk to the press ahead of the long journey back up to Cumbria following what had been a disappointing team performance in the 2-0 defeat at MK Dons.
He said: “There’s just a feeling we could have been a lot better than we were. We spoke before the game about getting close to them all over the pitch and we just didn’t do that.
“They ended up being better than us in every area and we’re always going to be disappointed with that. We had to be braver than we were and we’ve talked about that a lot after the game. We all just want to put it right.
“We know we need another reaction. We did that for the Portsmouth game and that’s what we’ll be trying to do again on Tuesday night. We had some good spells in the second half and who knows what would have happened if we’d managed to get one.
“I feel like I’ve settled in now and I just want to get goals to help the team. The manager, the staff and everybody have been fantastic with me and the best way to repay that would be to help the team to win games.
“We’re all just determined to play the way we know we can, get back to winning games and playing good football.”
