Joe Garner on his return to Cumbria
Striker Joe Garner spoke to us this afternoon moments after he put pen-to-paper on a one month loan deal with the club.He said: "I've just driven up here this afternoon and it did bring back a few memories.
"I'm really happy to be here and I just want to play some games now. I have spoken to a few different clubs but as soon as I spoke to Greg Abbott I knew I wanted to come here.
"I know the manager and I get on with him well. When we'd finished talking I knew this was the right place to come to."
"I've been away for quite a while but I like the place and the fans are really good," he added. "I have some nice memories because we had a really good team back then. But that's all in the past because it's a new team and a new set of staff. They have some good ideas and I want to be part of that."
"The last couple of years have been frustrating," he admitted. "I haven't played as many games as I would like, but these things happen. You get new owners and new managers at clubs and they have their own ideas. Sometimes you just have to bite your lip and get on with it."
"I'm fit and ready to go and I'm just looking forward to playing games," he said. "I'm not sure what will happen after this 28 days but you can never say never about anything. I'll do as well as I can and the future will take care of itself.
"I think it's a good thing to come in and have a game right away. We all want to play and hopefully I'll get a chance to be involved tonight. The fans here were great with me last time and I'd go as far as saying they are the best fans I've worked with. It's definitely good to be back. Like I say, I just want to play and score goals and hopefully do my part in a successful team."
