Eric Kinder on the Cumberland Cup
United coach Eric Kinder spoke to us about the Cumberland Cup victory over Celtic Nation on Tuesday night.
"It was a hard night for us.
"The pitch was soft and boggy and this competition either goes one way or the other with us. We play in games and we run riot or we play like we did in this one, where we always expect a bit more.
"We set ourselves high standards and we came nowhere near them but it's a cup game, we've won, and we'll take that.
"Some of the senior professionals needed a run-out and it was good for them to get 90 minutes under their belt. Overall though I was disappointed with the performance.
"It was a hard pitch to play on but it was the same for both sides. We had plenty of possession and we made one mistake and paid the price for it.
"We missed so many chances it's unbelievable, but the positive side of it is that we created them and we kept going.
"We've gone through against one of the strongest sides in the competition and that is a real positive. We had some decent contributions from my young lads but we always expect and demand more of ourselves. It's frustrating but, like I say, it's a knockout competition and we're still in it.
"It did look like it would go to extra-time at one stage but we got the winning goal and we move on to the next one now."
