Midfielder moves north
Carlisle United Football Club can confirm that Tom Taiwo's move to SPL side Hibernian, where he signed a two-year deal this week, will bring the club a small compensation payment and will include a sell-on clause should a transfer fee be received for the player in the future.Taiwo, 22, turned down the offer a new contract with the Cumbrians at the end of last season for family reasons having made over 100 appearances in his three-year stay.
The combative midfielder joined United from Chelsea in the summer of 2009 and quickly became a fans favourite at Brunton Park.
Managing director John Nixon said: "We have agreed a small compensation package and a sell-on clause now that Tom has opted to go north of the border.
"Under the circumstances, with a move across the border, that is the best we could hope for and we all wish him the very best as he joins his new club."
