Striker on his first goal from this spell
On-loan striker Joe Garner notched his 20th goal for the club, and his first on his return since joining from Watford three weeks ago, when he set United on their way to three points with a first half equaliser against Walsall at the weekend. We caught up with him after the game to get some reaction.
"I really enjoyed the goal," he said. "I've had a fair few chances and it's nice to see one go flying into the back of the net.
"I'm the type of player who just gets on with it if they aren't going in. I keep getting into the areas and hopefully, now I've got this one, there'll be a lot more to come."
On the delivery from Higginbotham, he added: "It was a great little ball in and it was nice to get on the end of it. Scoring in front of our fans is good as well so I'm pleased with that."
The real celebrations were reserved, of course, for the 92nd minute strike from Liam Noble ... but it could have been different had the live wire forward not seen movement out of the corner of his eye.
"He was very lucky because I was going to hit it," he admitted. "Then I saw him coming and I decided to let it go through to him. To be fair it was a great finish in the end. I think we deserved the three points with the way we played so it was good to see it go in."
"I think we went into the game feeling confident," he said. "We trained well on Thursday and Friday and even though we were a bit sloppy at the start we were much the better team once we got into it.
"I think my own form is coming along well. I just need a bit more in the way of match sharpness. Once that comes it should lead to even more goals.
"I'm really enjoying it here and I can't see why I wouldn't want to extend the loan if the option is there. It's a great group of lads and I'm having a good time so we'll see what comes of it all next week."
