James Berrett on the weekend match
Midfielder James Berrett spoke to us shortly after full time on Saturday about the narrow 2-1 defeat at Brentford.
He said: “I think we did enough to get at least a point from that.
“It just doesn’t seem to be going that way for us at the moment. We’re playing much better and if we keep doing things this way then the wins will start to come. The performance was there for us and we’re disappointed with the loss, but there are positives to take.
“We are pleased with the performances as a group of players. If you go back a couple of weeks we weren’t playing well and the football wasn’t coming. If we can get the results to match what we’re doing at the moment then it will be happy days.
“We had our chances and we missed a penalty in this one, so it could have been different. That’s how it goes sometimes so we’ve just got to keep plugging away. Missing a penalty is just one of those things. Joe [Garner] has been getting his goals regularly so he’ll bounce back from it.
“Like I say, the fact we haven’t got anything to show is really disappointing. We can talk about playing well as much as we like but that doesn’t move us up the table. But we’ll keep going this way and we know it’ll change for us.
“I think you can tell with the way we’re doing things that the confidence is back. Everyone wants the ball again and it’s a lot easier when you play like that. Hopefully we can carry that on.”
