Gjokaj returns to parent club
Derby County defender Valentin Gjokaj has been recalled by Derby County this afternoon as the Rams assess their festive injury situation.
Swiss-born Gjokaj, 19, joined the Cumbrians on-loan until 2 January 2013 on their way down to Yeovil at the end of November and has made one appearance for the first team when he came off the bench for the second half of the FA Cup game against Bournemouth.
He started his career with FC Luzern and had trials with Blackburn Rovers before signing for County in July this year.
He made his debut for the Rams as a substitute in the 2-2 draw with Sheffield Wednesday at the start of this season and is tipped as a hot prospect having signed a two-year deal following a successful summer trial spell at Pride Park.
Manager Greg Abbott said: "I know Valentin was enjoying his time up here but there's nothing we can do about a situation like this.
"He's a good, hard working lad and his club need him back so, unfortunately, we have to let him go. He goes with our thanks and best wishes."
