Defender stays on youth loan
Manchester United defender Sean McGinty will stay on a youth loan with Carlisle United until 5 January 2013.
McGinty, 19, initially joined the Cumbrians at the beginning of November ahead of the trip to Deepdale but is yet to feature for the Cumbrians.
The tall centre half spent his formative years with Charlton before making the switch to Old Trafford in 2009.
He earned a place in Warren Joyce’s reserve side in 2011 and has enjoyed loan spells with Morecambe and Oxford United. He has represented the republic of Ireland at U17 and U19 level.
"He has come in and had a taste of the first team atmosphere and he is improving all the time," manager Greg Abbott said.
"This type of loan means that he can play Development and Reserve games for Manchester United but he's available for us if he's needed. He's a good lad and a hard worker and we think his time with us will have done him good. He's played in a couple of very tough bounce games for us and we're pleased that we are able to maintain the link."
