Noble on his goal celebration
Goal-scorer Liam Noble spoke to us about the Shrewsbury defeat shortly after the full time whistle had blown at the weekend.
He said: “I thought we were the better team right through the game.
“They had three shots and scored from two of them, and that just seems to be our luck at the moment.
“When the ball was in their area they were making blocks and it fell to one of their players to clear it. We just need them to start falling for us and we’ll be able to put them away.”
And on his fourth goal of the campaign, he added: “It was great play by Chants [Chris Chantler] for my goal. I thought I was offside for a moment and then I just decided to go for it. I had a quick look at the linesman and he was happy, so that did it for me.
“Rory Loy really let me down for the celebration though. He told me that if I scored he would do the Dougie Dance with me over by the dug-out. I ran over there and started to do it ... and he didn’t even move off his seat! I was proper stitched up.”
“We were on top after the equaliser and we thought we could win the game,” he continued. “Their second one was a sloppy goal to concede but, again, it was another bit of bad luck. There are a lot of positives to take from the game because overall we played well.”
“We’re all in this together and we know what we need to do,” he said. “We just need one result and that’ll be us hitting the ground running. We’re a good side and we know we have nothing to worry about.”
