WE'LL LOCK HORNS

Greg Abbott on the Ipswich game

United manager Greg Abbott spoke to us about tonight's game in the Capital One Cup against Ipswich Town.

He said: "We're going into this one in a good frame of mind but we have to expect a reaction from them to the result they had on Saturday.

"They'll be really upset with their performance and I expect a fierce response.

"We have to go into it with the same levels of determination we showed against Portsmouth and hopefully we will put them under a little bit of pressure."

And on meeting up with old friend Paul Jewell, he added: "I know him really well and he is a top lad.

"He's a good manager with a proven record and win, lose or draw we'll be shouting at each other in the technical area then telling a few stories in my office afterwards.

"We go back a really long way and I can't wait to see him. He was fantastic to have around the dressing room when we were at Bradford and he's got a huge appetite for the game.

"He did say, even back then, that we would both end up as managers and he made it before me, so he got it right I suppose.

"We'll enjoy seeing each other and having a catch up but both clubs will want to progress, so we'll lock horns and see how it goes."
