Late penalty takes victory from United
It was nip and tuck at Raydale Park on Tuesday night as United went head-to-head with Queen of the South in the latest of their pre-season friendlies in what was an entertaining game.
Queens grabbed the lead early in the first half when Shaun Handling nipped across his marker to nod home from close range, but Carlisle were qucikly back on level terms when Connor Hammill smashed a powerful shot in from the edge of the box.
Strong work from Greg Peel turned the game on its head deep into the second half when he muscled his way through two challenges to rifle the ball into the bottom corner, but Queens had the last laugh when Ian Mcshane scored a last gasp penalty with the last kick of the game.
We'll have full reaction from Eric Kinder on Wednesday.
