GET IT ACROSS THE KEEPER

Matt Robson on his goal

Matt Robson made it two goals in two games at the Lamex Stadium on Saturday when he beat the offside trap to drill an unstoppable shot into the bottom corner right in front of the 456 strong travelling support.

He said: "It was one of those games where I don't think they really looked like scoring, so we are disappointed that they nicked one at the end.

"They're a good, strong team and we've matched them and worked hard, so we're going to be pleased with a point, particularly if we can build on it this week.

"It was really hot out there but that's the same for both sides. The referee used a bit of common sense to let us take some fluid on board because it would have been difficult to keep it going for 90 minutes without that."

On the goal, he added: "It's something we did in pre-season. I saw Danny [Cadamarteri] with the ball and I made the run off him. Once it came through I decided to try and get it across the front of the keeper and it was nice to see it go in.

"I said last time I just want to be involved wherever I play. There's competition for places and you can only do your best whenever you're involved. I enjoy playing further forward, it's what the manager originally brought me in for, and hopefully I'll keep chipping in with a few goals.

"We've a good week to look forward to with a run of home games coming up. If we do it right then we'll have given ourselves a decent start to the season."
